This game has a lot going for it. The graphics are in 2D, but much of it is modeled in 3D and with live actors, allowing for smooth transition effects between scenes. The sound effects are well done, too, and everything comes together to create a very creepy atmosphere. There are also many jump scares, some of them very scary indeed!

Unfortunately, the gameplay is painful. The game engine doesn't let you skip anything, and every single cut scene and transition is as slow as molasses. If you click something wrong by mistake, you'll have to wait for the animation to end. Even the game menu behaves this way.

Also, the game world is tiny: just a single house with a few rooms. Since most of the game is about finding hidden objects in this house (with a few puzzle mini-games), you will retread the same rooms again and again and again ... and always with those same slow transitions.

Finally, the objects you have to find are almost all of the same type. There is no significant variation.

The bottom line is that it's boring and repetitive. It's also very hard: many of the objects require a very sharp eye to find. There is a hint system, but it's not available when you need it the most.

As if that weren't bad enough, there are weird bugs. On Windows 10 it doesn't really go full screen: your task bar will remain visible, really hurting immersion.

There's potential here in terms of atmosphere and visuals, but I can't recommend this game. It's just not fun to play.
