Rather than a puzzle paltformer it's a platforming puzzle game. Imagine a game like Mr. Driller, only much more frantic.

It really melds puzzle games and platformers together exceptionally well, and has a great soundtrack to boot.

Despite looking like it jumped right out of deviantArt, just about everything about the game oozes polish. What you're getting here is basically a dangerously furry Muramasa/Metroid/2D Devil May Cry, and it's fantastic.

Pretty interesting combat for a korean MMO -- Very rock-paper-scissors like with a heavy focus on watching enemy behavior. There's a metric shit-ton to do in the game.

The weakest part has to be the early story quests. They've got some stupid time restrictions and requirements. Thankfully they're not required to enjoying just about any other part of the game.

Having not played the original (and thus not having the rose-tinted glasses of expectation), XCOM holds up well as a challenging, and reasonably deep Strategy/RPG. Your mileage may very with how kind the Random Number Generator is to you, though -- I find myself missing 80%+ chances to hit more often than not.

Once it's more technically stable (crashes aren't all that uncommon) I can see myself doing an Ironman Classic run to force myself to stop pussying out and reloading my save when I lose a couple of veterans in a mission.

Improves on the first in just about every way. Borrows heavily from other games, but chooses the right bits from all the right ones. From a technical standpoint it is a poor PC port (no graphics settings, no keybind changes), but what you get for sacrificing that is an incredibly fun game.

It's Death Rally. Faithful to the original and enhanced with more vehicles, more weapon types, and other unlockables. Well worth your $10 if you ever played the original.
