I'm a huge HOMM fan. I really wanted to like this game, and I played it over and over again.

LEVELING UP:
After playing for a while, it becomes clear that 95% of the skills and magics are completely and utterly useless. It takes little time and little brains to figure out. These unbalanced features makes the game pretty one dimensional.

GOOD/EVIL:
This is actually something I like. Depending on the path you take, you gain different strengths. However, in the single player game, the bad side just felt like it was way too weak. I found it much easier to play the good guy. The skills in the leveling up system that benefit from evil, are completely worthless (except vampire).

MARKETING SWOOP:
Feels like the marketing guys took this project over. The whole launch application, bundled with the skins, bonuses and other items, feels like a desperate way of trying to earn some extra cash. However, next time I suggest that they make sure they have a really good, balanced game, before they start putting valuable time into some crazy marketing idea.

OVER ALL:
Other than that I just think they have such a good "base" to stand on from the previous games, its beyond crazy to ditch so many basic concepts. I respect innovation, but there has to be a sound balance between innovation and staying true to the core features that made HOMM one of the RPG greats.
