Pretty great game about dying repeatedly--probably the third-best game of its kind after PST and Demon's Souls.

Do you love flawed masterpieces that we will never see the likes of again? Then you may love Bloodlines. Released as buggy mountain of... bugs, the community recognized the spectacular RPG action underneath and churned out patches where Troika (who went under soon after releasing a single patch) could not.

Following a hub-and-spokes design as opposed to the more common open-world, Bloodlines shares much in common with Deus Ex in that it provides multiple avenues for every goal. The characters are interestingly zany, and the game embraces the source material (Vampire: The Masquerade) well. Combat is solid after the community patches are added, and has plenty of variety.

Don't play this without the patches, and be careful--this is the kind of older game that may punish you for poor build choices at the beginning. Nevertheless, if you're an RPG fan with an eye for good dialogue and that long-lost multiple-paths philosophy, get Bloodlines.
