Touched-up remake of what's probably the best indie Metroidvania out there. The redone sprites are sharp but subtle, and the two extra takes on the soundtrack are magnificent. If you don't own it already, give it a play.

So much variety in weaponry! Borderlands doesn't take itself too seriously, but the action is solid and doesn't stop. Better with friends, but it's just fine going solo.

I'm not even a huge fan of sandboxes and this got me hooked. There's so many different things to do, so many enemies to fight. It's a blast, and old-school-ish to boot.
