btw guys, if you want a suggestion for something to buy on steam... Mount and Blade Warband. That game rocks my socks, and kickass multiplayer, and 50% off during this sale.
This game is hella fun. It has all the classic Oregon Trail gameplay you'd expect, but this time its a zombie apocalypse with a station wagon instead of a gold rush with a covered wagon. The classic Apple II graphics and sound effects harken back to a simpler time, but also has some modern game mechanics and music to spice it up. And the game has a lot of humor as well. BUY THIS!
Decent but short game. It definitely paints a grim picture of what we might see in games that are microtransaction based in the future. This game is more of an intellectual game and less of a game you'd play for fun, as the gameplay is pretty tedious. This is intentional design to drive home what the average DLC/Microtransaction ridden game is like, often times they dont add any real new content but just adds to the grind. For instance, there's one DLC pack you purchase to use a grindstone at 1000x capacity. So either you hit the X button a few times or thousands if you dont buy it.
I dont recommend this for people that just want a simple and fun platformer, I recommend it for people that want to be aware of what some game companies may actually do in the industry in the future.
We'll have to play a game together some time; I've got plenty of options in my game library as you noticed :p
