It has an interesting, well told and fairly impactful story. Gameplay wise it is better and more polished than I was anticipating. The PC version plays, looks and runs way better than the console one (based on playing both demos). It has fairly solid mechanics, more often fun than not and has a good variety of weapons. The setting and the graphics, especially the lighting and art design are surprisingly gorgeous. It is a beautiful but dark and gritty game. I beat it in ~10 hours on normal difficulty. I'll probably play it again for story variations. Haven't tried multiplayer yet.
Great fun for those who just love to blow s#!% up! It is more story oriented (read: linear with lots of cutscenes) than Red Faction: Guerilla was and a fair amount easier. However: the new nano powers are fun, the weapons are polished, the enemies are satisfying to splatter and the destruction is more focused and frantic. Lacking the open world of its predecessor, it returns to cave tunnels and dark mineshafts which leave it feeling more in the tone of the first game, sadly still without the ability to blast through solid rock. :( It is a solid B+ effort for the swan song of the series.
