Playing this game took me straight back to my childhood. The days when I would rent a SEGA MegaDrive up at a local video kiosk with my friend—only to lose hours upon hours watching a blue hedgehog speed across the screen. Sonic Generations is a homage to the good old days when 2D platforming was king, and it manages to keep itself fresh by mixing in some nice 2.5-/3D gameplay elements. Well recommended for purchase, if you're after a blast to the past.
An absolutely fantastic puzzle game! Though, that statement does come with a fair warning; it can be extremely difficult at times to solve some of the challenges that are presented—but when you do, it's so worth the hair-pulling, nail-bitting, facepalming frustration you might have had for a period of time. This is the type of game that will make you feel like a little genius from solving it. Recommended to give it a look.
For someone not typically in love with racing games, this was an extremely pleasent surprise. Arcade-style driving, take-outs, cops and robbers - Add to that a great soundtrack and some pretty "stunning" visuals, and you got yourself a racing-game winner. I can highly and whole-heartedly recommend this if you like racing games in the style of the Burnout series.
