Voir le profil de PC Gamer PodcastTomb Raider "reboot" is two games in one: A gunplay heavy action-thriller with QTEs galore, and a laid back adventure / puzzler similar to the TR games from days of yore. Whats interesting is these two games occupy the same space. You are required to play the action game... the puzzler is optional, but you are compelled to play it in order to unlock Lara's skills and weapon upgrades. The game difficulty has been scaled nicely so that more players are likely to finish. Graphically the game is gorgeous and cleanly exploits the PC, and the fiction is excellent. If it weren't for some clumsy QTEs I would give this game a 10/10. Now when do I get the union jack bikini?
I have mixed feelings about FEAR 3. It has the familiar gunplay of the previous FEAR installations, but lacks the quality horror fiction of the first game, less so of the second. The multiplayer modes are fun and addition of Co-op modes (fettel's character in particular) is welcome. So, in the end it feels like yet another shooter with very little soul. I would recommend for the co-op and multiplayer, but not for the FEAR fiction.
Anno 2070 continues the "City Builder" style gameplay of the previous anno games, set in a future where sea levels have eroded the earths coastlines. Basic game elements remain intact, such as advancing through citizen "classes" each having more complex needs. Satisfying those needs goes from minutes to hours during the well paced single player campaign. This game adds a geo-political layer that includes voting for "leaders", voting on various bills, etc that can result in tangible bonuses. There are daily challenges that can be played during campaign missions. Visually stunning, I find myself pausing to just observe the world frequently. Highly recommended for Anno and City Builder fans.
