There isn't an easy way to recommend "The Binding of Isaac" as one would any other game. It isn't a bad game, far from it. The fact of the matter is, "Isaac" is a game that needs to be experienced to be truly believed. I can confidently say without a doubt in my mind, that Isaac is unlike any game I have ever played.
You play the role of the aforemention ed"hero," Isaac. As told in the game's intro, Isaac is forced to flee from his mother due to religious circumstances. Flinging himself into the basement, Isaac now finds himself overtaken by horribly mutated creatures and even more horrifying bosses. Venturing from room to room, clearing enemies and growing in power and strength, Isaac becomes what he destroys so desperately, for no other reason than to survive.
The game features randomly-generated rooms, enemies, items, and bosses each and every time one plays From the same creator as "Super Meat Boy," The Binding of Isaac is in a genre all its own.
Five stars, out of five.
This is the game Guitar Hero should have been.
Enter Audiosurf: a game where you choose the song, you choose the experience, and you choose the challenge. Manning your own personal starship of audio prowess, you are then tasked to surf your own personal roller coaster based upon the audio levels of the song you choose. This means, that every experience is different every time. By dodging grey blocks and collecting colored ones, you aim to achieve the highest score possible.
Boasting three different difficulty levels, starting at casual and working your way up to a blistering speed, Audiosurf is much deeper than it appears. There are a variety of ships for you to us, each of which handle differently with special attributes of their own. As stated, you choose the challenge, and you choose the song. It is quite enticing. Online leaderboards only enchance the competitive spirit.
I highly recommend Audiosurf. It is truly a genre all its own.
