Such is life. You spend a lot of time looking for the perfect casual game and then you come across minecraft. Yes, I know I shouldn't compare the two, simply because they are two totally diffrent games but in terms of casual games, these two are the top of the class.

I highly recommend this game, simply because its still being developed, its fun and if you have three friends, play it together. Create, destroy or just exploit the world. Its one versitile game and you won't regret taking a look.

Graphics are 2D but that shouldn't deter you and controls are simple. Perfect for even the most sluggish pc's out there. Although netbooks won't handle that good. Be careful.

[Part One of Two]

The World of Portals, that's how I like to call it. After all you are Chell, the mute with the device that makes handsome portals you can slip through and be creative with. In these two games, you are presented with logic, humour and fun as you progress through hours of story driven ideals and twists.

Okay, Portal One wasn't that much of a story driver, however its important to take into consideration and you'll understand the concept more clearly once you've proceeded into Portal Two. GLaDOS is always present and with you, in the first game, she's (Yes, why are most deviously invented A.I's always female?) the one you'll be listening to for advice and comfort as you solve her purpose built maze... I mean chambers full of fun puzzles for you to solve.

Each game has its own flair and unique ways of interaction between you (Chell) and GLaDOS (Enviroment).

[Part Two of Two]

Graphics are unique to both games, you will find clean and sterile enviroments mixed with dangerous out of bounds scenery in the first and well, an overpowering, overwhelming sense of scale and enviroment in the second game. You will come across so called Rat Den's in both and I suggest you take the time to find and explore them as they contain images which makes this game so unique.

Story is simple, make portals, solve puzzles, continue. This is for the first game, the second, without too many spoilers, is more about survival as well as solving puzzles. You will always be challenged and once sucked in, there's no escape. Hope GLaDOS approves of your testing ability.

All in all, both games are totally worth it and one doesn't go without the other. You just have to have gone through number one to understand the complexity and awesome number two. Oh, number two has Co-Op, have fun with you science partner!
