OK, here are my predictions for episode 3:
Gordon travels to the ship that belongs to appiture laboritories and finds loads of combine advisors onboard. Thus leading to the conclution that the portal technology and the "testing" that orcured in the game Portal were infact the combine's work. The vortigons will appear sometime to help Gordon to then destroy the ship forcing the rest of the combine to retreat off earth, then the G-MAN will appear and try to put Gordon back into stasus but the vortigons will like own G-Man and then something will happen to get people ready for half life 3.

I also think that Alyx will have a massive part in the combine defeat due to the vortigons doing so much to keep her alive.
