In Braid, you go around collecting puzzle pieces, by using the ability to wind back time to solve puzzles. While I initially found the game quite frustrating, it grew on me as I got used to the physics and mechanics. I'd say it's about 10% platforming and 90% puzzle - generally if you know HOW to get a puzzle piece, you won't have much trouble actually getting it. I enjoyed Braid because each puzzle piece provides a challenge, and is very satisfying to collect. Each world also has its own special gameplay mechanic which adds variety to the game. Music and graphical style are really nice, and the plot is thought-provoking but very confusing.

The bright and cheerful music and visuals make Toki Tori a very "happy" game. It's a puzzle game, plain and simple, and has a handy rewind feature that means it's easy to backtrack if you make a mistake. It all seems very well-made and works exactly as you'd expect it to. So if you enjoy puzzles, I really can say nothing bad about this game, except perhaps that it can get slightly repetitive. There are lots of levels, including optional bonus levels and hard levels for each of the 4 worlds (ok, 4 and a half). However, be prepared to spend a lot of time on each level towards the end, as it gets very hard!

This game makes the original Portal look like a proof of concept. This game takes all the mechanics and themes used in the prequel, adds to them significantly, and applies the result to an enormous, seamless set of very varied levels. The campaign took me far longer to complete than the first game due to the sheer size of it, but Portal 2 also includes plenty of achievements, a separate multiplayer campaign, user-submitted content and an editor to keep you busy. Well worth it, especially if you can get it on sale!
