An indie gem; Absolute blast. Simply brilliant. There really isn't many other ways to describe it other than say that it's really, really good. Like, Portal, for instance - hard to capture just how good it is in words.

It's a bit prone to crashing, but once you figure out what's causing it and fix the problem (was low video memory for me), it works great. There may be an occasional desynchronization artifact, but nothing dying and respawning doesn't fix. It's still one of the best games ever.

Tower defense doesn't get much more stylish than this. Revenge of the Titans is brilliantly atmospheric and quite unlike other games in the genre. It's more like an assymmetric RTS where you turtle up and build base defenses to stave off columns of enemies marching towards you with worrying determination. There's not a huge array of different weapons at your disposal but the ones you have are satisfyingly distinct.

Sometimes the game can get a little frustrating especially if you're trying to complete a mission perfectly and a lone titan slips through your defenses ruining everything... or how the setup phase ends when you put down certain buildings rather than saying "I'm ready" when you are. But in these moments you must remember that it's OK to lose, it's OK to lose buildings, it's OK to win by the skin of your teeth. The game has an adaptive difficulty system and you can regenerate a level to an easier layout, so just have hectic fun and aim to beat the game, perfectly or not!
