In my opinion Spongebob finished with the episode 'Pranks alot' the episode had wit and charm. The next episode (Fear of a Krabby Patty) was abysmal and its been downhill ever since. Seasons 1-3 used to end every scene with a joke just before the bubbles went up to change the scene.I remember 'Fear of a krabby patty' ended a sentence with plankton saying 'your still sick. Very Very sick' and I was like...uuh, haha?
Also in season 4 instead of ending with a plot twist or funny joke, they just end it with 1 or more characters laughing! bear with me if you will as I list a few of the terrible endings they've had:
Mr. Krabs: oh she's a dump all right, but shes my dump
SB:oh.
How is that funny?
SB: there he goes off to share his laughter with the world
WTF?
also has anyone noticed how the writers always emphasise on the charecters one trait. I noticed this alot in Atlantis Squarepantis, the self-proclaimed second spongebob "movie".
As someone once said "its as if they got one word sentences about each character e.g Mr.Krabs likes Money, Sandy likes science and were then asked to make that funny.
and also they've made plankton a main character ever since the movie, he used to be an occasiona; character like sideshow bob in the simpsons but now he's a core-character.
I miss the days where plankton could focus on something other then the formula. Remember 'Walkin' Small' the one where plankton tries to open the chum bucket mega bucket'. It was funny and didn't confirm planktons stereotype.
I remember the episode that made me writhe in agony when I saw the ending. Did anyone catch the atrosity 'Epilogue at the end of the eipisode
basically a boy rolls around on the floor. The mom thinks he's dying and he says hes doing the new dance fad;the cramp. Then the other characters burst ina and suggest they do the cramp. Then they do. How cheesy was that?
In my opinion the worst episode was 'all that glitters'. First of all why would there be spatulas being treated in the hospital? Then spongebob spends half the episode naked. Also, why would someone spend so much time engineering a technological spatula that then runs away from you? And how would having multiple spatula heads help flip the patty and frankly they could've come up with a more original name then le spatula. And then SB rolls on the floor naked and crying and then pops up to quote a random proverb. Plus does anyone remember stephen saying he wanted no pop culture references so the cartoon had a timeless quality, well did anyone see the blatant wizard of oz references in the episode where spongebob becomes a wizard?
They mangled stephen hillenburgs masterpeice, they literally drowned him in his own sea
