Do you,,,

- use computers at least since the early/mid ninties?
- miss the noise of harddrives ticking away and fans whirring without modern nonsense like adaptive speed?
- have positive feelings for your trashbin?

This game is for you.

(Serious, its a casual game with a lot of surprises, if you just want something mindless that you can play in short bursts for a looong time this is it. But please be nice to the bin!)

While yes there is a learning curve and yes there are odds and ends that could be better and are also clearer to understand and more straightforward in other software its FREE while other software can cost in the 1000s of dollars/euros/seashells. Get it, see if its for you.

This is a deceivingly simple game at first glance, you just need to move the character and the attacks will happen by themself. However as the difficulty rises your abilities scale up with each Level and at some point you will be an almost unstoppable vampire killing machine. There is lots of secrets to find, synergies to explore, upgrades to do, things to collect and the lootchest mechanic is picturebook reward system for your synapses that makes you want to collect more. If that doesn´t convince you try it out on a mobile platform but please play it longer than 5 minutes to make yourself a picture as the game only starts to shine after a few runs and the beginning can seem like you are doing something quite dull, while it is the opposite.

Don´t let people turn you off this game just because "Oh no it is not like the original Pac Man CE". if I want that I play that one. CE 2 is full with new game ideas and indeed the most hectic Pac Man I have experienced, still it is a lot of Fun (and I am bad at it, still I want to play more... that is good I guess). Watch some People playing it on Youtube and then make an educated decision if its for you.

Generally a really fun game that can be played in short bursts, a 16 bit game in spirit that could have been released on one of the old 90s home consoles.

A few nitpicks: Often I feel the game is a bit unfair when a lot of bullets are on screen, diverting the ball too often into the sidelanes and there is not much you can do to save it. Yes the game says you should use the nudge feature to your advantage, but I always hated nudging in Pinball games. But that might be me and may or may not pose an issue for other players.

I still recommend this title, we need more pinball inspired games!

I have not much previous experience with gamemaking, let alone programming, yet since I started using (and learning) this software its hard for me to stop. The integrated GDScript makes it easy to pick up and understand, once your brain has clicked, Highly recommended for people who find Unity overwhealming (also there are quite a few good tutorials on Youtube already).

Actually this is a game that would have looked great as an Arcade Machine (and would have swallowed a lot of coins). If you like Crazy Taxi and Mechs and Pizza and the odd "Push the button at the right time" Minigame you will probably enjoy this.

The design of this game is spot on, this is how people in the late eighties and early ninties imagined the future. Dark industrial complexes, run by privately owned companies who basically have taken over leading the world from the world leaders. Biological components interfacing directly with computing devices, creating half human, half machines, a totally new and powerful way of experiencing the world... and potentially deadly, as soon as evil characters find out how the system works and how you can manipulate it.

Set in a traditional Cyberpunk environment this game welcomes the player with dark electronic music, a piece of speech here and there to grab your attention but otherwise mute actors. It reminds on a remix of classics like Syndicate and Crusader, crossed with modern genre games like Deus Ex. The usual levelling up mechanics for abilities are present and a little "hacking" minigame (played out in a simple quicktime event) as well as little sidequests are loosening the otherwise very focused atmosphere, when the Protagonist fights through the hordes of punks and corporate guards that ony want to decorate the floor with his wetware.

This game is amazing, the animations are stunning and the gameplay is fantastic, this is the best 2D Sonic (remix) since Sonic 3. At least for me the game runs fine in Windows 10, in fact it's one of the best running games I have seen so far on my not-so-high-cost-hardware.

If you have issues with the thought of DRM, well... that is something everyone has to decide for themselves but every AAA title today contains it. To Sega, you are in the end only hurting yourself and the reputation of the involved people for introducing DRM. Steam should be enough of a DRM measure in itself, there is no need to add a second line of defense for your game.

But, please people, if you have doubts do not let that keep you from buying this game because it is amazing!

Thimbleweed Park is a special affair, it is full with memories of people who shaped the genre in the late eighties, saw its highlights in the early ninties and had to witness how Adventure games became more and more rare, until you could have thought they are more dead than disco.

If you played Zak McKracken or Maniac Mansion (or any other Lucasfilm/Lucas Arts game) then you will find a lot of cameos of characters, little jokes on the old games and the genre, like the Sierra habit of having the player able to die at any failed puzzle, which they tell you pretty early on that you do not need to be afraid of that.

Thimbleweed Park is like a time traveller from the past, it has the old spirit but cleverly disguised itself so it does blend in more with modern days games. Ron Gilbert and his team did bring the genre softly into shape, without trying to do radical things like 3D graphics, but subtle stuff. For the not so subtle stuff, there are a lot of in-jokes and plays on old days games, which some people will hate and some people (like me) find funny to no end. But these can be turned off (in fact by default they seem to be) in the settings so you can concentrate on the actual story, should you wish to do so. If you loved the old Lucas Arts adventure games, you will love this.

tl;dr: You have a setting if the toilet rolls go over or behind the holder. 10/10, the signals are strong tonight!
