My current rig:


MSI K9N6PGM2 - v2, AM3, MCP61P, 2ddr2 motherboard - 2 DIMMS support for DDR2-800/667 MHz up to 8GB max (currently have 2GB) - $45 with CPU

AMD athlon LE-1640 low energy efficient @ 45W, 2.7GHz, 640KB L2 cache, socket am2. - Free with CPU+mobo combo (read above, $45 after MIR)

Kingwin XT-1264 120mm HTC series universal socket copper heatpipe CPU cooler - $10 after $20 MIR (currently have 2 120mm fans on it)

2 gigs of DDR2 pc-6400 800MHz RAM - $22+tax at frys. Thinking about getting 4 gigs, but most likely I will wait till I get a job.

DIAMOND ATI RADEON HD 2600XT SB edition graphics card. Dual HDTV-out, DX10, shader model 4.0, 256mb, GPU core clock 800MHz , Memory clock 700MHz - $25 from a guy on craigslist. Brand new in box.

WDC WD2000JD-00HBB0 western digital 200GB hard drive (only support 130GB for some reason) - $20 from a guy on craigslist. Works great. SATA.

What I had already:

Antec super lanboy (customized and modified) $100 at compusa several years ago.

500w ultra PSU (in rush current, short circuit and thermal overload cutoff protection) - $60 at frys several years ago.

Far cry 2 benchmark Settings: Demo(Ranch Small), 1360x768 (60Hz), D3D9, Fixed Time Step(No), Disable Artificial Intelligence(No), Full Screen, Anti-Aliasing(None), VSync(Yes), Overall Quality(Custom), Vegetation(Low), Shading(Medium), Terrain(Low), Geometry(Low), Post FX(Low), Texture(Low), Shadow(Off), Ambient(Low), Hdr(No), Bloom(No), Fire(Low), Physics(Low), RealTrees(Low)

* Average Framerate: 26.05
* Max. Framerate: 42.58
* Min. Framerate: 15.88

BF2 maxed out comp1337ly @ 1440x900 - (only possible with patch 1.50 that supports widescreen, otherwise it would lag trying to render 4x3 resolutions)
no lag unless jet bombs or artillery.

BIOSHOCK maxed out complete @ 1440x900 - no lag

FEAR - for the most part maxed out - still need to get 1.08 patch working for widescreen support

Counter Strike: Source - average 47 FPS with everything maxed out @ 1440x900 with video stress test.
