Very artsy game, that uses time loop way better than some other contestants like 12 minutes or deathloop. And a progression system similar to outer wilds but as you go further in the narration, some core things in the loop will change.

Amazingly captivating. I dunno why but I had to know what came next. And the game overs that makes the story go forward like Hades did.

A very modern game, very touching subject matters, and a gameplay that subtly mix all these elements together for a great experience.

Finally, the immersion inside the main character's psyche also feels very genuine, the game does a good job of making you feel what the character feels.

At the very least, if you like psychological horror games, you should definitly give this a try, it will be money well spent.

Awesome roguelike with an innovative take on the gender with it's very compelling narration brillantly told by it's superb voice acting and awesome and nervous gameplay.

Top of the cherry. All of that is basicly seemless with the gameplay because every element of the game are very cohesive with one another.

Also art and music is nerdgasm material

So this is not a big yes. I'd say to play it if it doesn't coast much and I would say DO NOT FINISH IT.

This game is pretty good in it's presentation.
The way the camera moves
How the sound get distorded when character shouts or when a loud noise happen.
The very raw and brutal violence like when you shoot someone in the face with a shotgun and the head gets censored because it's too disgusting or something.

All that is great and I have to say pretty unique and is worth a play. Or at the very least a view. But the game is really linear and repetivive.
Enemies don't get better.
Level design does a bit and some parts are really fun but they are really short as well.
Environments are dirty and diverse and that's good but there is just a tiny bit of verticality and that's that.

The story is really simple and ends abruptly in a very empty way. I won't get into major spoiler and i won't be specific enough to give major plot away. But this game is about two character and in the end there is a character shift and you think all that leads to something. But it doesn't. The end isn't even built up like an end or even an epilogue. It's just boring and blend.

Play the two thrid of the game if you want all the good ♥♥♥♥. But that's it.

Dear game developer.

This is not to hurt feelings or anything, this is meant as constructive criticism.
The game isn't really good at what's it's doing in my opinion.

The thing is. I get it, the contemplative game, huge environments, minimalist character, emphasize on story and contemplation. All that doesn't mean bad game and deserve to be in gaming.

But I really feel that a lot of it is clumsy and causes the game to be kind of pointless in challenge and pacing.

-You have nice minimalist music but it is a 2 chords loops for some parts making it annoying really quickly
-You have some events like birds flying away stoping your gameplay and activating over and over again making it repetitive and not enjoying the beatiful uning background per vignette. That is really a shame because these events should sulbime the pace and the contemplation, not actualy stoping it or imposing you this break.
-At first there is a lot of dialogue that is not very well written, I mean it's just character talking, a lot of exposition, and some weird weird way to justify you as the protagonist.
-Character animation is too minimalist with the gorgeous and very complex pixel background. Making animation like jumping, climbing and other stuff not interesting.
-There is some kind of inventory system where you get stuff at the begining of the game that is actualy mandatory to deal with obstacle you don't have access before getting the items making them pointless.
-Speaking of these items you have also pointless obstacles. The only thing they do is block you and you have to press the same key for everything in order to get rid of them with your mandatory items. Why even bother ? You just have to stare longer at some screens that are not even the interesting ones.
-Some vignettes have unic ratio, but it's very rare when its one of the only cool feature of that game

I'm pretty sure I forget some things but the point is all that. It makes the game main purpose, contemplation, tedious. Really really tedious. If you could move more freely, your movement sinking better with the background. Better dialogue with actual effect on the text and color, music that don't always work around two chords. I mean this is so much stuff that could emphasize contemplation rather than going against it.
I feel like a lot of what's in the game is there in order to make it longer, or to make it feel more like a video game. To me it should be an interactive piece of art and shouldn't fall into video games cliche just because it identifies as one. It's ok to be minimalistic in gameplay too, I wouldn't have mind just pressing one key all game long, as long as it looks amazing.
Maybe just keep the flashback feature to make some screens beatiful in a different way.

Artwork is great.
Story is okay.
The flashback feature is cool.
The first temple is breathtaking, that one was amazing in every way.

Everything else could be improved upon.

Played it since the close beta. Gotta say a very good follow up to lakeview cabin.

You get thrown in a world where you have to explore and learn dark and morbid secrets. Will you be a pacifist trying to go through the game without getting involved in the weirdness the game has to offer or will you involve yourself with murder and whatever comes with it ?

A bit like zelda, but where you murder people ! To this day, it is still dangerous to go alone.

Before I start I would like to say that the game is good, graphics are nice, storytelling is very immersive and the exploration is really enjoyable. Everything about this game is good except the point that i'm going to make and that makes me put a thumbs down on it.

This game is about the story, it got a moral and point of view wich it slowly leads you to, but it's hollow, it's not beatiful it's an empty shell, and it is this way because of the recent action of the co-creator of the studio developping this game, and since he is talking for the entirety of the studio, Santo Campo.
Santo Campo recently gave a strike to the most famous youtuber not because of copyright abuse but because of point of view about the youtuber's personality.

This action has several consequences :
1) It made them pubicly lied, they said community ( wich includes this youtuber ) could stream and make videos of their game and monetize them making them acting against the stance that this game took.
2) They advocate freedom of speech but actively try to censor a contenant creator because they considerate their point of view more important more true than other's. Making the point of this game seems a lot more... selfish, fake, untrue, hollow...
3) They made a game about trying to get your life back together and actively tries to destroy someone way of earning money and live, someone else's life. Wich goes against the point of this game yet again, wich makes everything i've seen and loved about this game a terrible LIE. I'm so disapointed. I loved the game so much.

I don't want any refund or anything, what I want back is my point of view, and my feeling of joy this game brought to me. But even the bigest update of steam cant refund me that now, can it ?

If you want something true in your life, and if you want the experience that the game brings to you to be real, to mean something, don't buy this game.
Or any other game from this company.

You will just end up being disapointed and depressed by the lack of genuine lessons of life those people could have bring you, but yet because they cant keep on their word, they just can't give that to you.

Their game has nothing for them left.

What a nice and pleasant game !
So I didn't really recieve this for free however, I did get it with a reduction coupon and by selling some steam trade cards so I technicly didn't have to pay for it !

That being said, game is actualy pretty nice, it's too bad the credits doesn't give information to whoever did this game and the music ( wich is super nice most of the time ) because I would have love to follow them on twitter or something like that !

So about the game, it's nothing amazing and it was a very short experience for me ( took me less than 30 minutes to finish the game ! ) but I expected a short experience from this price and I really enjoyed the experience !

That's my overall point of view of the game but I'll now present you a table of everything I felt was nice and meh !
(This is a personal opinion, not a universal truth)

Subject
Meh
Nice
Controls
A bit slipery
Easy to get used to
Graphics
Little to see
Nice and simple
GameFlow
Lacks a bit of polish with level and music transitions
The connectween between each levels is well done
Level Design
Easy to get arround constraints
Confy, smart and simple
Obstacles
Spike killing on sides and moving platform moving without you and killing you
Very well placed, makes you feel good when avoided.
Music
Some themes or sounds can be a bit annoying
Good quality music that sets the mood and that i'd like to buy

So ye, short game, lacks a bit of polish ( wich is ok for this range of price ) but very enjoyable and nice little game !

If the developper of the game see this i'd like a chat with him if that's possible ! Thanks for reading this to anyone who does !

Even though the game got old, I think it's interesting to play it to see how the game is built until the very end, the finale and the whole game itself got a very cool naration... Some events are stupid in matter of what are the consequences

//! Spoiler Alert !\\
( When going into paul's hotel room, you get raided, no matter what happens : if you leave through the window, paul dies, if you leave through the entrance, he lives, so you can kill the whole raid, and paul is fine, he'll be like 'go i'm fine' but if you go through the windows, he dies ! )
//! Spoiler End !\\

But some stuff are really interesting, your implication in the game is huge, and you got this hitman feels where there are multiple paths to get to your objective... Wich is always nice !

It's a free game so... Yay, for a free game it's awesome, but really short and if you play more than one time you see the limit of this "visual novel"

I like the message behind the game even though I wasn't really too much into Emily... So i really wasn't too concerned about the girl...
