Fantastic indie title. Tight controls, lovable characters and a tonne of power-ups to collect. While the storyline is quite short, Cave Story + extends its gametime with extra challenges, a hard mode and multiple different endings. The music and graphics are delightfully retro with the original Cave Story thrown in for good measure. Well worth a look if you're into classic titles from the 8-bit and 16-bit era, but if you're not that fussed about the upgraded graphics, music and extra challenges, the original is free to download from Cavestory.org.

Hands down the best single-player FPS experience I've ever had. With an atmospheric world and a gripping narrative, Bioshock is perfect for fans of the FPS genre that don't mind a good story. Rapture is wonderful to explore, there's a very colourful cast of characters and nothing beats taking on your first Big Daddy. If it's in the sale and you haven't tried this yet, you've got nothing to lose. If it's not in the sale, buy it anyway!

Insanely fun squad-based FPS. 200 hours of play and I'm still not bored. Great continuous support by Valve with nine unique character classes to play as. Plus it's FREE. Do I even need to recommend this?
