You'll start off not good at this game, and then get good, and then get bodied by some dude with a frying pan and be humbled once more.

got it cuz i thought it was gonna be good but i wasnt impressed with how unpolished the basic core gameplay was.
cant vault over knee high trenches, what is vaultable leads to a pretty disjointed animation where there is a pause after the vault and then you kinda click back into normal mode. the action consists of spawning in a few yards from the enemy where you run at them, die, and then wait 30+ seconds to respawn. tried using the mg40 and it was difficult to find a place to use your bipod, and when i was using the bipod it would flicker between iron sights and the "hold your bipod and free-ball it while standing" mode.

really underwhelming gameplay considering how much time i spent thinking about this game and whether it was worth it or not. i only played about 36 minutes cuz i didnt want to lose my refund window, and honestly 36 minutes is all i needed to make a decision. coolest thing i experienced was the menu screen with the dude and the thousand yard stare .

il keep an eyeball on this game, i guess

Trust me when I say that if you are on the fence about this game, then it is right up your alley.
There is nothing more satisfying than firing a volley with 74 other players in a line at enemy colors 100 meters away, and using the smokescreen to disguise your charge, or executing a near-perfect flank on a regiment that overextended itself, as nightfall creeps over the horizon.

If you execute your commander's orders to the best of your ability, and communicate with your team, than its an experience like no other. And what I love about early access games as a whole is that you are investing in an experience that you and only a few others get to take part in. It's admittedly a small community at the moment, but that also has its own beauty. Your experience truly matters, and you can see updates come to the game as a reaction to matches you played only a day before. Its like bragging rights too, like "oh this game? I remember playing it when i was just a 3D cube zipping around a flat plane" or something along those lines.

The visuals, however, are absolutely nuts. Animations are smooth, characters react to overhead gunfire, you have a dynamic day cycle and weather system that can turn the tide of a battle, gunsmoke can fill a battlefield and drift with the breeze, and the environment is so real you can feel the grass as you run through a field with your comrades into a surprised regiment. You curse your enemies as you approach, let out a warcry as you attack, and sing Rose of Alabama as you march into an uncertain battle.

I write this review because I honestly believe this game is an experience that more should take part in. Modern gaming is so bogged down with modern shooters that its all the same. You are a one man killing machine in some desert country tearing up another man's homeland. But you have to really work with your fellow Americans to make anything noteworthy happen here. You get a chance to visit the South and its beauty, as well as America in all its glory. And in our society right now, as divided we are for reasons that dont matter in the end anyways, I feel a game where you shoot your fellow Americans on our own soil is not only a healthy self-reflection, but an important experience as a whole.

Come join the line, and let us sort our differences in battle.

I understand why the company is called Paradox now,

You have Game companies that make bad games, and then over time through a concentrated effort make good ones.
You also have Game companies like Paradox, which makes a widely accepted successful game, and then has their bored programmers iterate and reiterate the game to the point that anyone who played it less than a few months ago will come back very confused and annoyed.

I read the initial reviews about everyone's frustrations with the hyperlane changes and such, and here I come back to a completely different UI, different Planet management system, everything. I feel just as violated as they did.
I dont even know what i am looking at anymore. the planet management is a more "User" "Friendly" collection of numbers that dont make any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense whatsoever to anyone, and was probably a product of some idiot who vetoed the previous, well-made population system either as some kind of flex on the previous programmers work, or a product of believing that making poor decisions and changes on a previously praised product, transfers that praise onto yourself.
the screencaps you see arent even accurate anymore. Your game experience is entirely dependent on when you first initially play, and if you set it down for a bit you will come back ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ confused.

Dont play this game. Whatever game mechanic you get comfortable with will be changed if you blink a little too long, because some Steve over at Paradox thought his cool Suduko puzzle and smaller UI buttons are way better than what everyone liked to begin with.
