A pleasantly surprising third person shooter. While it isn't quite horror and strays more into cheesy splatter, this is not a bad thing, the atmosphere is still great. The level design is top notch, and is very maze like, similar to Half-Life. Linear, but with wiggle room.
Varied objectives and fun, but not especially challenging, physics puzzles draw you in and help tell the strange story. The goal is always clear, if you pay attention and explore a little, you will never even need to look at a map.
The gore based combat is enjoyable, and the decidedly heavy pacing and unpredicatability helps keep you on your toes.
The store system can feel a bit tacked on, but it works and it helps add a sense of progression to the game.
It does have a few issues with mouse control but if you have a pad, or fiddle with your mouse settings a bit, this can be overcome. It also helps to disable vsync. But the game is well worth the minor annoyance.
This is a good game and you should play it.
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is a gem. A solidly designed game that reminds of cinematic platformers of yore. The excellent and very animated art immerses as you descend deeper into the planet, deeper into the madness... and emerge stronger... or perish.
This is literally awesome. I am in awe. The control is a little bit clunky but unless you play the hardest challenges it shouldn't be a problem.
Unfortunately no one can be told what Dust is, you have to see it for yourself. See the volcano rise out of the ocean, see the tsunami sweep away all and forever change the map. See the awesome power of the ancients as they master the elements.
I'm serious do not miss it.
