If you liked the first Zeno Clash, you'll love the second game. Hand-to-hand combat is back, now better than ever, as is he world of Zenozoik which you can now explore freely. The game approaches its newfound open-world design by throwing in some sidequests and stat-increasing items into the mix. Music and graphics are, as always, of high quality.
On top of all that, the game has a co-op feature!

if you're a fan of good music and art, the special edition includes both the soundtrack and a digital artbook which doubles as developer's commentary.

Bottom line, this game is good. Buy it if you want to experience one of the most-diverse environments and characters in a long while. The price is well-worth it.

Fans of the old games say that this one is a complete disappointment – I dare to disagree.

The combat is just as challenging and deep as it was in the older Devil May Cry games. You'll enjoy getting toying around with the new weapons, and once you've unlocked higher difficulties you can start the real game and enjoy a real hardcore experience.
The story is well-done as well. The developers reused mostly things from Devil May Cry 3 and only the Big Bad Mundus from the first game, the rest is original.
Graphics are good as well, especially here on the PC version where HD textures are available by default. Also, only on PC can you get 60 fps – which is how such a fast action game should be experienced.

The only two things I didn't like were the music and the boss fights (expect the last one).
Aside from the first combat theme you hear in the game and the one during the last boss battle, everything else is rather forgettable. They work when you play the game, but you'll remember NOTHING when listening to the soundtrack of this game separately. (This only applies to the Combichrist soundtrack though, the Noisia CD has all the non-combat tracks which are nice).
As for the boss fights, they're way too easy. This is a real step down from the older games. Thankfully the last battle saves this somewhat.

Overall, the game is pretty good. Just don't think as a “fan” and expect (or should I say, demand?) the same stuff you've seen before. Give the game a chance, it is the one and only new DMC-like experience since 2010's Bayonetta after all.

Truly a beautiful game and well-worth its price.
