"I'm not a warrior, I'm a soldier. There's a difference. Warriors attack and conquer, they prey on the weak. Soldiers defend and protect the innocent—mostly from warriors." - Carth Onasi, Knights of the Old Republic

Games recommended by [ATC!] Spaniard Marine _
I normally write a paragraph here about the game. But I think it will turn into one of those commercials asking who doesn't like free money. I mean, who wouldn't love to play in one of the most epic sandbox worlds ever developed, awesome detail and scenery, a story which is uniquely written as you play, and a levelling system that should be the standard of RPGs? Simply put: I do not recommend Skyrim. I require it. 10 out of 10.
RAGE is a strange world. It feels like Fallout 3, but with more fluid gunplay. The questing of Fallout isn't here either, since most quests boil down to "you're doing jobs for me since you're useless otherwise. Oh yeah, after this, it won't be safe anymore, so you'll need to find somewhere else to work." Although these missions look redundant on paper, every one feels unique and thrilling in their own ways (even if the objective themselves aren't exciting). Much of this is because of RAGE's awesome animations and smart/clever AI. Storywise there isn't too much excitement since the motivation (ie. Fallout 3's go find your father) just simply isn't there. The ending feels Gordon Freeman-esque, something which becomes more obvious late in the game (Authority loudspeaks speak like Breen and soldiers ask you to 'pick up that can'). Co-op is fun and runs on its own stand-alone arenas, as does multiplayer (though this is ONLY vehicle combat). 8 out of 10.
Space Marine has its strong points in its fluid swordplay and solid gunplay; an extensive library of lore which makes this truly a living and breathing world; and a multiplayer experience that can be fun when you have a good connection and find the build you like (or the color of purple you like in my case). Singleplayer is my favorite part overall, but its story is hurt by how generic the main characters are (and even more so how generic their dialogue is). The impact of some of the more profound moments are hurt because of it. Basically, if you were looking for a good story to go along with the awesome gameplay, you may be disappointed. Beyond the current release day content, co-op will also be added to the game next month to add even more gameplay value. Overall, Space Marine is a beautiful game with awesome gameplay in singleplayer, multiplayer, and eventually co-op. Minus a little damage from generic voice lines, it is easily one of my favorite games of 2011. 9 out of 10.
