Nikki

Maine, United States

Extremely time-packed college student who can't help but use her free time unwisely. Just <3 gaming (blame my brothers for getting me into it), but can't seem to get away from the addiction to blue and chocolate! ^.^

I will usually play Left 2 Die (2 players, no extras) in the L4D series. It would be prefered if people would ask before joining (especially during a 2 player L2D, games tend to crash when someone tries to join). Majority of the time, you'll probably find me hosting or playing custom maps, but I'm always willing to help out anyone new to the game. Though, that being said, I am not a huge fan of Versus, it's not my cup of tea.

Oh, and don't ask if I have a mic, don't even bother asking. To compensate, I use vocalization binds. (Don't worry, I don't spam since it's just annoying to everyone and gives me a headache [especially death screams].)

The games I'm usually too busy to answer in are L4D, L4D2, and KF. If I'm in any other game, feel free to message me, just don't expect a quick response. Usually, while in the Indie game (such as Recettear, Beat Hazard, Bejeweled, The Sims and The Baconing), they are my waiting games for anyone else who wanted to play something else. During the summer, don't be surprised if I have to leave suddenly, being home means I'm going to get called on a lot. >.O

Respect is a mutual thing, you're going to have to earn it. Prove to me that you are a diamond in the rough.

FYI, my character flaw is that I don't contact people first, usually wait for people to take that step. I usually presume people are busy when it comes down to it.

"I am a shield, as well as a sword..." But I don't want to be someone's personal grim reaper...

If there's ever a prefix of [ZXT] before my name or it changed entirely, it just means that my brother is on instead (but it will always go back to the original).

Play and Protect

This group is dedicated to the players who have played games to benefit their team and meet the goal at the end, all with good intentions. No worrying about high scores or who has the most kills, it's all about having fun and having a sense of accomplishment when everyone makes it at the end. Players like this will always have your back.

This is, by no means, a serious gaming group or clan. There are plenty of other groups out there with such intentions, but, when you join this group, you will be acknowledged as a team-player in any team game such as: CS, AS, L4D, KF, HL2:DM, L4D2 and TF2. Also, there is the willingness to help out new players along with patience and diligence (regardless of having a mic or not) while not being greedy with the health packs, heals, or pills. Players of all skill levels are welcome and invite those you believe are superb team players to the group.

(However, that being said, this group will not tolerate griefers. We all bought video games to have fun on our spare time, and if someone wants to ruin it, it's a waste of everyone's time. Please be considerate of others' in-game progress.)

Everyone is encouraged to invite those who are team-players to this group. We don't ask for your dedication, nor will we ask for any weird tags to be placed on your name, anyone is welcomed. Just being part of the group lets others know what you enjoy doing.

There are levels of cheese in this world, but this one takes the cheesecake. Ok, that was a bad joke, but in all regards, this game has probably the GOTY for "Fun"! Yes, I know, it's a long stretch with all the Triple-A titles out there, but this game is immensely great fun with friends. Sure, it is mindless, but when you have hundreds of enemies on screen, you won't care too much about tactics or how many buildings are in your way of the target. There is the the amusement factor that is attached to its appeal, like no other game on Steam.

Be warned though, it is a fairly basic console port (if seeing "Press A to start" isn't a warning), without many options to adjust graphical settings. Controls are in tune, but frame rate is capped at 30 (though maintains a steady flow at 30.) Also, the limit of players is not the usual 2 or 4, but 3 for campaign and 6 for survival mode. However, there is plenty to experience with this game if you're familiar with EDF!

If you've ever dreamed of being your own store owner without the IRS bearing down on you with mortgages and taxes, then this game will very will be on your street. It's great fun for haggling, working with the economy, and yes, there is a bit of JRPG action on the side as well. You could very well get lost in a game like this, trying to up your last sales and be competitive while satisfying customers (if that's your sort of thing.)
Drawbacks? Well, the controls have to be adjust separately, can't change them once you're in game. Players may be overwhelmed by what needs to be done in the first few weeks due to time limits and profit goals to be met. The art style is very much the 16-bit era with 3D backgrounds, if you don't mind it. Also, the game is in English, but the audio is in Japanese, so if you're not use to the stereotypical voices, then it may get annoying. It's great fun in short runs, though you might find hours that have flown after haggling with an old man by day's end

(Another recommendation for the console versions, but not the PC.)
This is the game that compliments the tarmac assault of other games in the genre like GT5, Forza and F1. Visually, it is much improved with a huge arrangement (for the better) of the menus. The game has been a mass improvement like no other before it, with mass amounts of fun online and off.

Faults? Well, the feeling of the cars (yes, they are overpowered, light-weight rally cars, but still...) is still very light, a bit too easy to drift. There is the ability to adjust the settings before a race or event, but it's still not as natural as driving in Gran Turismo (and its rally iterations). Meanwhile, there are slow downs randomly, and local multiplayer is only two players with basic modes. Online can be fun with the various modes though. Console versions have trophies/achievements as well as DLCs. Price has dropped by now, so it's worth a rent at least. For the driving enthusiasts.
