I was apprehensive about Terraria. I'm usually not a huge fan of 2D games, and it seemed like only a Minecraft clone. But it's so much more than that! More to do, more to see, more to have fun and experiment with! Admittedly, the developers have claimed they aren't allowing third-party mods, and that's one of the best parts of Minecraft, but there's so much to do in the base game of Terraria that there's almost no need for mods. I highly recommend this game, just watch the videos if you're unsure about it.
I didn't expect to like this game, but I really do. It's got a great rhythm and is very inventive. It's different, and great fun. Just watch the videos!
Metro 2033 is incredible. It takes place in post-apocalyptic Russia. The developers paid a lot of attention to detail. The atmosphere of the game itself is so amazing; it's almost stifling when you go through the dark tunnels of the metro, but it isn't any better up on the surface, where you have to wear a gas mask 24/7 or you could die. Most of the creatures you'll encounter will be deformed and changed by the radiation, but there will still be humans you'll have to fight, as well.
The only bad thing about this game was that I was so entranced that I finished it too quickly. It's a must-have for anyone who can survive the stifling atmosphere and is interested in post-apocalyptic worlds.
