Close Contact

Close Contact is a modification for the Source 2 engine, its goal is to bring ultra realistic multiplayer co-op and team deathmatch to the Source 2 engine. This mod is meant for people who enjoy games like Red Orchestra, Rainbow Six, etc.

The mod is primarily based on PMCs, Private Military Companys.

Many games today focus on fast paced action against one another, while the most requested (and left out features) is "Co-Op". I feel its time we bring the excitement of killing "bad guys" to our audience

Keeping it Tactical:
The definition of "Tactical" is:
"Approach taken to achieve a specific objectives or to solve a specific problem."
The players shouldn't be funneled into a specific solution.
If the "good guys" have "kill" a terrorist leader, why do they have to march right up the front? why can't they come around the sides? above? Sneak in undetected? Players should be given an objective and instead of leading them by the hand, we should let them figure it out.

Movement:
The way the player, the cam, can bring the player into the fight. Having a full range of movement, and realistic limitations on how they move. Example, players should be able to lean around cover, and they shouldn't be able to bunny-hop.

The Weapons:
Weapons should be chosen carefully for their practical use. No dual pistols, no crazy attachments. Weapons should fire as close to the real deal as possible. We don't have to go ARMA crazy here, just try our best to make them real. If we have the means to make it real, we should take it!

Bad Guys:
The key feature in AI for most games today is fear. Its difficult to have fire superiority over your opponents if they don't fear death. when Hit they need to cower, when shot at they need to duck, when returning fire after receiving fire they need to be reluctant. If they loose too many friends, they need to bug-out.

The Team:
Phatcat (Mod Leader)
1/4 Life (Head Programmer)
Primus8 (Mapper)
Karas (Mapper)
PelPix (Skinner)
Captain_Capslock (Music)
(More when the time comes.)
