Simply stunning. This is a story of an immigrant coming to Liberty City, a knock off of New York City. Niko Bellic, the game's protaganist slowly climbs up the crime world's ranks. The first story arch was quite interesting but meanders in the middle and finds itself in the finale. In traditional GTA manner, you can steal cars, screw hookers, and run over pedestrians. The city isn't the biggest ever seen in a game, but it's damn dense. You can't really get a sense of the incredible level of detail when you're whizzing around in a stolen sports car. Walking on foot will have you dropping your jaw in the sheer amount of stuff available for you to see. Voice acting is suberb and the new shooting and cover mechanic is a welcome addition to the series. The word "epic" is thrown around a lot but this game deserves that title. Sprawling four islands in a concrete jungle from hoodlum to mafia lords has never been so satisfying or deadly.
