This is a very good game. I think it could've had more underneath it, but is batting well above its worth. I think the worst part of this game is the name, which could've helped it sell way more than it currently has. It's not terribly long, but I enjoyed it.

I wish the developer luck with his future endeavors, I hope he can take the criticism on the chin and continue to make games.

This game was very poorly done. It was all jumpscares, there was borderline no threat of danger, there were several "lazy" things about the game such as the icon for the gun being a glock while the ingame model is not a glock, making me think the assets were store-bought. Several things about the game just feel unrefined and unpolished. I found the experience to be very poor.

Regardless, as a solo developer, I wish you the best and I hope you can improve from here. Learn lessons from this, don't stop making games.

I supported this game back in August of 2019. I have never once regretted my pledge to this game and I am glad to see them finally move into 1.0.

Congratulations.

This game is mid.
It looks great, has a great artstyle, the voice acting is great, the weapons and ideas are cool.

Unfortunately, where this game fails is where it's the most important. Several things feel unpolished and not fleshed out. Souls games, while not perfect, generally feel good to play. Things like "hit feedback" and responsiveness. This game has a lot of issues as well in it's weapon design and some weapons feel unrewarding and unengaging to use. It's really not great. Some enemies feel like a mess to fight, with just throwing out ten billion attacks all at the same time. Also, this game felt the need to ambush me at almost every single encounter and on every single item pickup. If you see an item, there's probably an 80% chance that it's an ambush to the point where it's actually funny. If you see an enemy that isn't fighting you immediately, you can bet there's a guy hiding behind the corner to ambush you. There are more than a few ambushes, the game is practically half ambushes and it stops working really fast.

The core gameplay issues though is a lack of playstyle, especially exaggerated in the early game. Blocking causes you to lose health in a "rally" system similar to Bloodborne, and like Sekiro, you have to perfectly time blocks to avoid this and deal posture damage. The problem is the game doesn't feel built for this or at least polished enough for this to be an enjoyable way to play, and it's mileage for enjoyment really depends on the person playing on if they like this playstyle or not. The issue is that it's the ONLY playstyle. Dodging a lot will not work as enemies have attacks that are both unblockable and undodgable, and must be perfect parried, and the timing is not generous. Limiting playstyles and ways to approach a fight is very anti-fromsoft with the exception of Sekiro. This is, in my opinion, the games biggest flaw.

Souls games also have very good storytelling and NPCs, it never shoves anything down your throat and this lets you get into it's world and lore at your leisure. Lies of P really wants to tell you it's story and I was not interested.

Overall, this game gets a 6/10 from me. It's very cool and it's very nice and the team clearly put a lot of work on it, but it misses the identity of why a souls game is fun to play and falls into many traps that I feel make this game less enjoyable.

I spoke out loud and the chip in my brain heard what I said and exploded, killing me instantly.

A masterpiece game, so long as you aren't repulsed by women kissing. I am not repulsed by women kissing. I like women.

A lot of little design oversights and a lack of polish (combined with some crashing) really drag down the experience.

A very competently made game that had me jump quite a lot. All of the puzzles felt very well made, I quite liked it. I think the game starts to fall off a bit around the ending, but it didn't bother me that much. I really like how it adapted "Observation Duty" gameplay into a 3D format like this. I think there was more that could've been done with this though, overall I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. This is a good game and I hope the developer keeps making good stuff.
