If you're thinking about getting into the Saints Row series, Saints Row 2 is the best one to start with. If you've already played the later Saints Row games, it's still worth it to go back and play Saints Row 2.

You start out by creating your character (race, sex, body build, etc.) and soon after that, you'll be free to explore the big city. The main story is interesting, but you can also do your own thing and follow the main story at your own pace.
