I haven't played a good Metroid-like in years (and this certainly is more Metroid than Castlevania), and maybe it's not for trying. Despite that, this game has all the basic elements wrapped in a really gorgeously weird theme, supported by the art and music. I can't get enough of the little bug dudes.

It's been in development for like 3+ years, but it's still a great, relatively quick puzzley dungeon crawler with good humour.

Do you know what is going on in this game? No, you don't. The devs might have some idea, but I doubt it! Do you want to flail around with barely any idea what your stats and weapons and NPCs do? You should! You should all play this game and become big, PC-gaming MasterUbermensches. I mean that.

A dungeon crawler that's tough, random, and has a sense of humour. Yesss.

I can honestly say that this is a game I would recommend for all you bullet hell slash retro shooters out there, and even something for ADD twitch action junkies as well, and also high concept historical sci-fi buffs.

While not as shiny and new as Fallout 3 was when it debuted, this entry takes a new look at the old wasteland, and shines a better light on the world through more interesting characters, greyer factions, better player choices, and nifty new features like the crafting benches, new perks, and some cool new weapons. If you didn't burn yourself out on F3, then continue on here!

Did you like The Lost Vikings? Do you know what that is? Do you like platformers that require you to use multiple characters with their own unique talents? You do, eh... well then this, coupled with pretty slick animation and an alright, whimsical art style/story should be what you're looking for! It's not too difficult (unless you're trying to achieve Everything), and a varied enough experience that it's worth checking out.

A charming little physics-based puzzle adventure, the game has you navigate side-scrolling levels in a moon-lander type ship to find extra ship pieces in your quest to completely rebuild and find your way home.
The core mechanic comes from reconfiguring your ship in-level with the pieces you have found to solve the puzzles that strew the levels. For instance, you might need to build an arm-like extension to prod a boulder out of your way, or need rockets on one side to propel you quickly through a guantlet.
There's also the requisite speedruns for when you are finished.
I enjoy collecting things in games and building/configuring them, but personally, I like my puzzles less physics-based.
This game, however, does both fairly well and is worth a look.
