This is the most impressive rogue-like I have ever played. CoND beautifully integrates tile based combat with music. Each turn lasts for a beat of the current level's song, leading to fun, fast paced action. Even during early access it felt like a complete game, and the full release is a masterpiece.

The controls are easy and straighforward, requiring only the arrow keys to play. The graphics are simple but well made.

The music is great. The soundtrack was composed by Danny B, and each song is edited masterfully into the game. CoND lets you use your own music for the levels, but I have never done it because I love the core soundtrack so much. Despite hearing the songs hundreds of times, I never get tired of them.

The various weapons and equipment provide a wide variety of play styles and item interactions. The enemies are well designed, each with varying movement and attack mechanics. The boss fights are unique and wonderful experiences. Each one is musically themed, and the varying musical styles reinforces the awesomeness of the game's music.

There is a very large amount of content and replayability. Between items, enemies, and floor layouts, there is a lot of variation between runs. There are high score and fastest time leaderboards which are very competitive, and people frequently race the game live. CoND can be very difficult at first because you have to learn each weapon's mechanics and each enemy's attack patterns, but there are many tutorial and training mechanisms built into the game. Practicing is well worth the time, and mastering the game is very rewarding.

I recommend this game to anyone. It is an absolute must play if you like rogue-likes or music based games.
