I bought this game 5 days ago and I've already poured over 30 hours into it. It combines genres I love into a progression-driven mix that lets my inner, near-clinic self run wild. Single or multiplayer, if you can nab this for under 5 bucks or the regional equivalent you will get a neat return on investment.

The sequel/prequel, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, is coming out late August. If you have any interest in Human Revolution, I highly recommend checking out Deus Ex 1 both as an expansion to the story and as a game. Even though the graphics and AI are dated, the level design and freedom of choice on how to tackle the linear missions haven't been matched by any game since. It ranks up there as one of the best games of all time in my book. Plus, it's cheap: it goes on sale at least twice a year for a meager $2.50 American.

The second game in the series, Invisible War, jumped the shark compared to the original in my opinion. Buy only at the risk of potential disappointment. Thankfully Human Revolution is by appearances and impressions a return to form.
