What can be said about Halo MCC that hasn't been said before? Probably not a lot, but I'll start by saying some of the stuff that has bumped this bundle of classics much further up my rotation.

I'm constantly on the move and rotating gaming mediums, so the cross-progression of games like this is a much loved feature, as similar cross-save titles are 90 percent of what sees my playtime, here being able to essentially pick back up my solo Heroic run on Xbox or PC whenever I can as well as plug and play mouse+keyboard when I'm on Xbox.

A big gripe I do have is that crossplay only translates to some Halo games/campaigns for some God-awful reason, not allowing me+my playgroup to essentially play anything but Forge, Firefight or 1 or 2 campaigns since they're mostly on PC.

Still though despite that I'm still impressed by what a solid game package this is all around.

An interesting shooter experience all around with a very typical western story, but not something I see myself returning to play again.

Multiplayer Star Wars in the vein of your Call of Dooty games. So much fun, I don't think there's a platform it was released on where I didn't play it. The builds can get interesting, being able to mix light/dark force powers along with lightsaber and blaster really creates interesting dynamics in multiplayer.

Some of the mods are worth messing around with too, as it lets you really customize your lightsaber to your liking and give the option of more styles.

The story is good, but yet again I didn't spend a lot of time there.

It's not a phase, a lot of these Star Wars games played a big part of my life and this one is no exception.

With a buddy of mine talking about being obsessed with Star Wars Squadrons after someone passed away too, it felt like a good time to leave reviews for some of my favorite Star Wars games from over the years.

Real Time Strategy is 95% what I turn my PC on for and this was one of the many my dad had in a CD case I'd install and play as a 7 or 8 year old kid (iirc). One that really kickstarted my love for these kinds of games, along with the other sci-fi classic, StarCraft. Bright flashy lasers, edgy art and beautiful sound design that kinda just wins over your imagination pretty quick. GB in particular has 8 factions, and kind of doing the Age Of Empires thing before it knew it had more factions to add.

The base game (which was all I played on disc) comes with 6; Galactic Empire, Gungans, Rebel Alliance, Royal Naboo, Trade Federation, Wookiees, while the DLC adds the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy. Very fun and a nice change of pace if you play a lot of AoE, but don't expect a lot of variance here outside of models and retexturing. It's an older game, there are some unique units but they all largely play the same.

Another thing worth mentioning is there's a total of 5 or 6(!!!) Types of resources to collect, and if you look at other games of the genre, especially those in the upper weight class, there's a reason this number is kept below 4. It's difficult to manage on top of everything else.

There is a campaign here too, but I largely don't play RTS for those so I can't really say how good it is story wise.

All in all a good snapshot of the era, and worth a visit if you love Star Wars games or want something that plays just a tiny bit different.

Dice can make a pretty game all they want but this is truly a classic. (C'mon. It's in the title) when I think of the Dice era of Battlefront game, all I see is photo I saved of the PlayStation store where the game is on Sale till 2199. Maybe by fiscal year 2199 the sales may catch up to this gem, but it will always outmatch it in quality.

There's been a smattering of good ones since, but I really miss the era of good story-driven Star Wars games.
