Early Access Review
So, I've been playing a bit more, recently. And it has gotten better since I had last played about 6 months ago. But only marginally. This had made me want to change my negative review to positive - that's how good it had gotten. I had just unlocked the Sherman (Worst thing about it - HE and APCR [APCR is a NECESSITY. You can not play tanks without it.] took a while to unlock) and was having a bit of fun with it. As I was writing a positive review, I decided I should see how it is with a new character. So I decided to pull a raw recruit for Germany, and I'll say how fun THAT was...

So I started off doing the tutorial for the quick level and First Blood badge (As I had done when I was actually first starting off). I then hopped into a match and it was decent. Nothing amazing. The next match wasn't so good. The third match was abhorrent. I came up against PPShs, PPSs, and PPDs with nothing more than a stock Gewher 43. I was mowed down in seconds flat in close range, and in medium or long range I couldn't hit anything (Mostly due to not having the ability to hold my breath). I had just gotten grenades, so that was alright, but my Gewher could do nothing to combat the automatic SMGs, Rifles, and Machine Guns that almost every enemy had. And thus, I decided to change my review to negative.

So here are some pros and cons:

Pros:

- Looks decent, not amazing, but decent
- Very active player base

Cons:

- Everything is expensive
- You don't make much money, next to nothing when starting off
- Garbage starting gear -> Can't compete with anyone else
- Long grind between level to level
- Spawn camping is still a thing, despite devs trying to get rid of it
- Spawn protection exploits
- Airplanes can damage tanks with AP MGs, strafe with HE MGs, and wreck everything with bombs. All on the same plane.
- Infantry have a meriad of ways to destroy tanks
- Back cappers are ♥♥♥♥♥
- Para
- Excessive pandering towards long-time veteran players who basically already have everything
- Grind is essentially the pay wall. Pay up now, or face the grind!

Yes, I mostly pull tanks.

Honestly, recon was borked. It's always been borked.

But that's the thing, they need to nerf and buff things, it's called rebalancing. And, if done properly, it's a good thing. Games like WoT also do that - even with premium vehicles. But if it's a very large change they will always offer the ability to trade your tank in for gold.

Yes you give the Devs money to say thanks for the game and then they nerf the gun that or class that you liked so much. Then when you ask why they state oh well it was always sposed to be that way. Yes I know other games due this but on a much smaller scale and a lot less frequently. I like this game very much and spent a good deal of money before they totally messed up the recon class beacuse people didn't like getting killed by them. Then we are told to use prone that has been bugged since day one and the refuse to fix.

Of course I can call it Pay 2 Win, especially when it takes 210 games to get a sodding gun so I can be competitive, OR I can just go ahead and buy it with real money for some 20 bucks. For a game I have a hard time enjoying to begin with.

You said it yourself:
"In WoT the only things you buy with real money is premium time, tanks, and credits"

Premium tanks, Garage slots and Premium Time are bought using RLF currency meanwhile in H&G there isn't a single thing that is bought using just RLF currency, even Premium Time (Veteran Membership)

The point I am trying to make is that you can't call H&G P2W when other well-known games are creating such pay walls.

Comment was too long, so I split it in half.

Pt. 2

In WoT, I can make about 50k in that game per match, with a few a bit lower, and currently I'm headed to a 2.1 million credit vehicle. That's about 42 matches, give or take a few.

In H&G I need 210k (Or so). As it stands right now, with my fully upgraded Carbine on my para, I only make about a thousand a game. That would be 210 games. And I don't enjoy those 210 games.

In WT, they borked the economy and that pissed me off, so fuck them.

This isn't a "git gud" thing. It's the fact that in two games I'm 'alright' at, I still manage to enjoy one, but not the other. H&G is incredibly hard for me to enjoy, and I would find it easier to enjoy WoT and WT more than H&G.

Alright, War Thunder I can see an argument. But WoT? I'm sorry, but you are completely wrong.

In WoT the only things you buy with real money is premium time, tanks, and credits (Gold too, but that just trickles down into one of the aforementioned three). Sure, you can buy premium time and premium tanks to get more credits - or just straight up buy credits - but you STILL have to play out the experience. If you convert for free XP, guess what? You still need to get that convertable xp somehow.

Also, I know everything is accessable with in-game and real-life money. But ask yourself, for the majority of players who are unwilling to pay, is it really that realistic? Do you seriously think I would spend enough time to unlock the Thompson so I can enjoy the damn game? I should not have to unlock a gun in order to enjoy a game. With a good game, I should be able to go in and have fun. Not be amazing at it, but have fun. That's simply not the case.

Just get good and you will realize that the grind is fake. Everything in this game is accessable with both ING & RL currency. Games with pay walls that are well-known are: WoT & WT due to em having some stuff that is accessable only via RLF currency.

Paying in H&G is more like a way to say "thank you for this game" to the devs rather than just instantly getting god tier equipment because you can only skip the part of buying the item but not skip the part of leveling up and unlocking the item (exept you pay 1000$ and skip the part of leveling up and unlocking the item []).
