Geeks, guns, and girls - what more does a man need?
The Geek Crew ForumsDungeon Defenders is more fun than it has any right to be. It combines the tower defense aspect of games like Defense Grid with the character building and loot gathering aspects of games like Diablo. Theheavily-outlined, cartoonish graphics and simple user interface borrow heavily from Torchlight. The game is great fun and makes for an excellent LAN party title, or a game that can be picked up and played at a moment's notice. The learning curve is not very steep, but the game has sufficient complexity to keep your attention for hours upon hours.
Monday Night Combat is a fun, fast-paced first person shooter. Althought it has excellent traditional FPS gameplay, it really mixes up the genre by adding a tower defense element. Players earn money on a map by killing enemies and performing other actions. These funds can be used to upgrade talents, purchase or upgrade towers at specified points, or generate friendly robots. This new take on the FPS genre is incredibly refreshing, well-balanced, and an absolute riot to play.
Much like it's predecessor, Mass Effect 2 is absolutely amazing. The level of integration with your imported Mass Effect save is mind boggling. The attention to detail, character development, graphics, music, and plot are all top notch, and have managed to rise above my already lofty exprectations.
