It's some of the most fun I've had playing coop. It can get boring quickly if you're playing it solo though. The story is really interesting if you've played some of the previous RE games.

Darksiders II takes everything the first game had and blows it up bigger, flashier, and much more in-depth, replacing the first game's Zelda-style inventory with a massive stock of randomly generated loot, as well as a much bigger variety of weapons and magic attacks to use, topped off with a grand, sweeping story about a much more likable hero on a more personal quest. About the only negative I'd come up with is to say it has fewer actual "items" to interact with the world with, but frankly, this is my personal Game of the Year for 2012; if you like action-adventure games, play Darksiders II.
American Nightmare drops the repetition from its predecessor by adding new weapons and types of enemies to mix things up with, and its plot makes clever use of the same three locations in a number of ways. The actual gameplay is as solid as ever, and the storyline, though shorter, is just as well-written, with a more personable foe in the form of Alan's nemesis, Mr. Scratch. However, it may be an issue to you that this one is nowhere near as scary as the original Alan Wake, and feels more like an action game.
Mafia II has a genuinely interesting criminal story, and the 40s/50s setting is one that isn't often explored in videogames, but the tone of the plot tends to be rather bleak, and the open world aspects are paper thin, as there's almost nothing to do outside of main missions except for buying food, guns, or new suits. If you have a fascination with organized crime, this game might appeal to you, but I'd make sure it was on sale first.
