Me before playing: Free Visual Novel? Awww hell yeah!

Me after playing: Lost peace of mind.

10/10 - would hang out with the characters, especially Sayori, and take a stab at completing the story once or twice again in the future.

The puzzles aren't difficult to figure out, but it is the story that is the best aspect of this game; the moral and ethical issues will keep you thinking about this even after completion. A well done psychological-horror from start to finish. Thank you for the experience, Jesse.

Wow! A VN without raunchy pictures in order to persuade people to buy the content? What is this madness?!

In all seriousness, ACE Academy is a well-written, almost fully-voiced (due to the MC not having a voice which is perfectly fine), and emotionally engaging story with several routes that the player/reader can choose to pursue. Sure, some of the characters are a bit cliché` and the puns are hilariously bad at times, but that doesn't detract from the quality of the game at all.

After a short amount of time passed playing this VN, I found that I had been drawn into this game in the same manner that I get sucked into a really good anime. I can't fully articulate to anyone who is reading this review as to why I got so invested, but all I know is that I spent an entire Saturday playing this game from start to finish with no regrets.

I chose to do the Valerie and Yuuna routes based on personal preferences, and I look forward to playing through the other routes in time. Hopefully, someone will see this review, give ACE Academy a chance, and enjoy the experience as much (or more than) I did.

TL;DR: Brace yourselves for the emotional rollercoaster of feels. I give ACE Academy a solid 9 drills that will pierce your heart (and the heavens) out of 10 Mech fighters. Enjoy :)

Do you feel like playing an RPG that can punish or reward you for every single moral decision you ever make? Are you prepared to redefine what you consider "moral" as your mental and strategic mettle are put the the test constantly? And finally, can you handle the emotional consequences of your actions as you struggle to balance the needs of keeping yourself, your party, and the rest of your caravan alive?

Banner Saga puts the questions to the test as you traverse through a gorgeous, norse mythological world...albeit on the run from dire enemies all the while. The game is fantastic overall, despite the rather monotonous and somewhat flawed battling system (e.g., an odd turn-based system that alternates your turn and the enemies every time; thus, even if you have 6 members alive and they have only 2, they still get to go multiple times while your characters only get to go once in turn). However, the real appeal is essentially the entire story itself: It is full of twists and turns, celebrations and mourning, and heart-wrenching choices through every step along the way. And the music! Oh, the music is simply some of the most aesthetically pleasing sounds you will ever hear; fitting seamlessly throughout the gameplay.

This game is only part one of several (out of a total of three I believe that are in development), so pick it up now while you have the chance (and when it is on sale of course!). I believe this game cuts a well-earned 9 Varl (Viking) axes out of 10 Dredge heads. If you have any questions for me about the game, please leave a comment on this review and I will be happy to try to answer them.

It's as if "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell was brought to life - but with deadly british robots! The entire time you are constantly on edge, trying to survive and make tactical choices throughout the entire game (day and night cycles are equally nerve-inducing). All the enemies, items, weapons and encounters are unique, and the game gets harder as you progress towards successfully escaping the five inter-connected islands. Stealth is key to this game. If you do not like taking your time or being stealthy, then this game WILL punish you; you will find yourself running away from enemies or dying most of the time as a result.

Despite a few personal issues I had with the lighting and game mechanics (mainly item usage like the alarm clock or bottle), I believe this game was a quick, fun, and overall entertaining way to spend an evening. I was able to finish a complete game in a single day that lasted a little over three hours. Just know that those were very worthwhile hours though. To me, there is not too much immediate replay value, but I can see myself coming back to this game some future afternoon. There is also a multiplayer option outside of the single-player gameplay, but I cannot comment on this since I have yet to have friends willing to play it with me.

Basically, I know this game won't be for everyone, but it is a solid stealth-based game. Therefore, pick it up during a steam sale when you get the chance! Also, due to its relatively short single player, if you do not like it within the first hour or so, you can always get your money back from Steam. I hope this review helps you in making your decision to buy this game or not, but if you have any questions about the game before you purchase it, feel free to add me or leave a comment here about it.

Oh yeah, my final rating (as people find this to be almost a necessity):
This game gets 7 crumpets split between 10 bad sets of teeth. "Cheers."

I bought One Way Heroics due to the plethora of positive reviews I saw...and because it was .69 cents in the steam summer sale. ;D However, I must say it has been the BEST .69 cents I have ever spent. I have put in over 10 hours of addictive gameplay, wondrous music, and hilarious and/or close-call moments in less than a week; all of which is wrapped up into one simple--but nothing less than amazing--game.

I can not emphasize enough how much I recommend that others get this game. It is not difficult to play, but can be hard to master, especially on harder difficulties. Finally, it is user-friendly and truly allows the player to challenge themselves or take it easy (whatever they feel like at the time they play). Great for all ages as long as they like the genres and style of gameplay this game has to offer.

Dead Space is a 3rd Person, Survival Horror game unlike any other I have previously experienced. In many other horror genres I'd be able to call all the pop-up scares and gruesome mishaps...but not dead space. You can still see some coming, don't get me wrong, but there will be more times in which you just feel like screaming "NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE" the entire time something comes flying out to kill you when you are not looking.

In Dead Space, you play as the engineer known as Isaac Clarke who boards a deep space mining vessel to try to fix it up. However, just looking at the title, things do not go according to plan, and soon Isaac and his two other companions are having to fight for their lives aboard a vessel of the living dead. These creatures are not your normal run-of-the-mill zombies...they come in a variety of deadly shapes and sizes, all wanting your flesh. Oh, and when I say you and your two companions must fight, I mean YOU (Isaac) must fight; they provide you with objectives to the next area where things that want to kill you in the most gruesome ways imaginable reside.

Dead Space is a disturbing, gore-filled game that mainly the mature should purchase and play. It possesses an enthralling and suspenseful story as you must try to put together all the pieces to a nightmare brought to life. I cannot wait to play Dead Space 2 now as a result, and I highly recommend purchasing this game if you are up for a good scare every now and then. I must say that the game probably lacks some replay value (unless you play on the higher difficulty for the challenge). Not because it is a bad game by any means, but because the "scares" are never quite as good as your first runthrough of a horror game, especially when enemies have set spawn points and are not randomly placed. That being said, Dead Space constantly introduces new enemies, various weapons, upgrades, and fast-paced life-or-death scenarios throughout the entire gameplay that will keep you wide awake with a twitchy trigger finger.

I'd easily give this game a solid 9 out of 10. So pick it up in the steam sales the next time you are up for experiencing something new or would just like a good scare. Oh, and I do hope you enjoy your stay aboard the USG Ishimura if you do: http://youtu.be/WFUNguAX9d8?t=36s :)

A rather simple card game to pass the time, Faerie Solitaire is literally as the name implies--a slightly glittered-up version of solitaire. It is something to play should you want to just aimlessly pass the time away. If you have any other games on your list to play, then I suggest playing them first. Don't get me wrong, the game is decent in its own right, but mainly for younger ages, casual gamers, grandparents, or those odd people who actually classify themselves as "gamers" because they play facebook games. It has a few unique factors to it such as pets, achievements, and objectives, which utterly make it seem more and more like it truly does belong on facebook.

Objectives start out easy and gradually increase with difficulty as you progress through the short and thin plot of the game. If you do not complete an objective on that level then you must start it over completely. This is something that will utterly allow you to waste more time should you so wish. Achievements vary but are relatively simple to grasp and accomplish by just playing the game. Lastly, you can find eggs and other "mystical" items as you progress, and they allow you to hatch them and raise your own pets/creatures over time. There are baby and adult versions of each creature--it evolves when you acquire the appropriate materials and earn enough exp (which you attain by simply putting time into the game I believe). The point of the game is to fill "Faerie Land" with creatures and release trapped Faeries by playing the card games somehow... Overall, I recommend Faerie Solitaire only if you are truly bored or have a younger sibling/child you wish to entertain while babysitting them.

Downloaded the patch that the game creator released to eliminate the steam censorship. Recommend all to do this. 69/69 for sure ;)

Update: Here is the direct link to the steam discussion by the creator himself for the patch:
