Wow, just... wow. If you have any interest in writing in video games, you need to play this. If you have any interest in video games as art, you need to play this. It takes the Modern Military Shooter genre and tears the hell out of it.

F3AR is a bit hit or miss. The horror element is more of a gag at this point than a genuine effort. The plot is incoherant giberish, which is to be expected from the franchise at this point. The first playthrough is basically what you'd expect... except... once you've finished a chapter you get access to replay it as Paxton Fettel, the player character's brother. As Fettel, you get to hijack your enemies and the game becomes a realy entertaining gimick shooter, where you're racing to kill enemies before your current body expires in a mess of gore.

On one hand, it's not as good as the second game, on the other hand, it's a much tighter shooter, the vehicle controls work with a mouse and keyboard, and it is still pretty ammusing.
