Play Classic Doom Over the Internet!

Odamex is a free, cross-platform (Mac, Windows, Linux) modification of the Doom engine that allows players to easily join servers dedicated to playing Doom online. The goal of Odamex is to add enhancements to Doom while still retaining that "classic Doom feel" we all know and love about the original game.

Odamex has a client/server architecture that allows players to come and go freely into servers without having to restart a game. In addition to the original Doom's Cooperative and Deathmatch; Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag are also supported game modes. While Odamex is free software, an iwad is required to play it. These iwads are found with copies of Ultimate Doom (doom.wad), Doom II (doom2.wad), Final Doom (tnt.wad and plutonia.wad), Shareware Doom (doom1.wad), Chex Quest (chex.wad) or FreeDoom. Doom II is the most commonly modded game and most servers require it.

Of course the Odamex community is very small, but growing. It is home to the International Doom League (IDL) and some of the most competitive Doomers in the world!
