I like FPS and Role Playing games, really anything I can use with my imagination. I'm pretty easy to sell on any games with unique aesthetics, or anything artsy, but I normally wind up dumping allot of time into blander games like Halo.

I've had to re-write this recommendation four times now, as it's hard to get how I feel across...
Right off the bat, I have mixed feelings about this game. First of all, though this is a game worth playing, it's short, really short, insultingly short for the asking price. It's not worth the full price, I'd save this for a splurge purchase during a sale. That's not to say it's bad, far from it. I really liked it, I do, but It's only 15 minutes long.
Granted it's a really good 15 minutes! But the full price of this game is awful generous.
"Thirty Flights of Loving" is not like anything you've played before. It's weird, quirky, and tells its narrative differently from other games. Basically, it plays out kind of like an adventure game, but its story plays in a more theatrical style, taking you from scene to scene like a movie playing with little interactive bits to string you along. It's a cool experience, but it feels like a glorified tutorial.
The shortness of this game is the main root of negative feedback, which is a shame, because it is a good game, just not great. This game made the mistake of presenting itself like it was a full length experience, as well as too high an asking price when really this game is really a conceptual experiment, a proof of concept if you will, rather than a full fleshed game.
My exact reaction to the ending was verbatim "Wait, that's it? No way, that can't be... What?! That's really it?!" it felt like I was just getting past the first chapter of the story and was about to go onto the next, bigger part, but then it just slams you into the end credits... literally.
So again, I actually do recommend it, but just adjust your expectations. It's an enriching gaming experience if you're into indie games, and I'd be more upset if I paid full price for it. Just get it during a sale if you really want it. It's fun and quirky, but not really a must buy unless you wanna see something different.
"Chivalry: Medieval Warfare" is by no means a perfect game, it's fun but it also has some glaring flaws. But you know what? So does Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, and we all love that game. You die a lot, it can be frustrating at times, and it takes time and practice to get good at it, but it does unlock weapons the more you play, so it at least rewards you for your time.
In fact, this started out at a HL2 mod. If you're not sure about buying this one, go play the HL2 mod, "Age of Chivalry" because it's literally the same game, this is pretty much an HD version of it. If you like that, you'll love this.
There was really only two thing I had a distinct problem with in this game. First is that the Archers kinda blow, at first anyway. You'll need to be more experienced with this game before you can effectively be an Archer, and even then it's hard to deny it's more fun charging in head first with a broadsword, as that's where the fun is. And second, the voice acting is pretty amateur. It's not terrible, it's decent, but at times is sounds like South Park characters doing the rabble rabble rabble voices.
Overall, not exactly 9/10, more like a hard 7/10, but a fun game. If you like the fast pace of HL2:DM and the challenge of similar games, you'll likely enjoy this one. It's not perfect, but it's still damn fun.
I really enjoyed both of these games, I thought the humor more then made up for its small budget graphics. I will admit I'm spoiled from voice acting in games, but the text crawl can be slowed down, which I found invaluable as a slow reader.
Maybe I'm a sucker for an old throwback to adventure games, but it's definitely not just an homage, its a fun game with its own brand of humor, and worth a try if Point-n-Click is your thing.
Aw heck, I didn't mean it like that, I like your profice character.
I play it so often cuz it's a game I can play while talking to people online, or I'm watching TV and just need something to shoot at the same time, it's easy to pause and pick back up at random.
So I guess it's like a multi-task kind of game for me, something easy to pick up and put down.
