Dog Company
Welcome to Dog Company. This wall of text here is intended to teach who we are, what we do, how we do it, when we do it, and why we do it.
We are a collection of gamers who feel our best when working together as a team. We enjoy wargames, be they simulators, real-time-strategy, turn-based-strategy, or anything in-between. Dog Company's focus, however, is Arma 3 and its related expansions and games. We enjoy a tough fight, good tactics, and good friends.
We believe the best way to work together is to do just that--Involve one another in major decisions, be they how to assault an enemy position or how to budget ourselves according to our needs and resources. Everyone's input is welcome, so long as it is delivered considerately and with good intent. Civility is a strong point.
Major missions will be held bi-weekly (To be decided within the week) though we will also be playing at various other times during the week. These missions are our major efforts. Our general attendance could be anywhere from nine to forty players (Subject to change as we let in more players) and we expect everyone to work with us on scheduling.
At the end of the day, our goal is to have fun together. Fire some rounds at a virtual enemy, have a few laughs, and hopefully accomplish our objectives. We hope that everyone who comes into contact with us leaves it with a positive outlook and a feeling of mutual respect and admiration. We want friends and comrades, not recruits or players. We want people we can talk to, work with and play with. We seek quality over quantity.
Membership is based on a trial basis (i.e. Playing with the group for a sufficient number of missions or sessions that we feel we know and want you aboard, at which time we will welcome you in.) and looks for activity, friendliness, and your ability to work with the team. Your ability to get thirty kills with thirty rounds does not matter--Your attitude does.
Addons will be voted in by the group. Our base addons CBA and ACRE. These are non-negotiable. Maps, units and vehicles, factions and the like must all be voted in. After a successful vote in, the addon will be put on a two week trial at which time the addon will be voted on again to guage if the team wishes to keep it. Non-base addons may be removed at any time after their selection by a vote of the group (Say if an addon is updated often and proves to be unstable just as often).
The platoon organization will be decided by a vote and scale according to the unit size. Currently our organization is of a Mechanized Infantry-Tank Company Combat Team consisting of one mechanized infantry platoon and one tank platoon. We do not plan on adding pilots or utilizing them in any official capacity. Snipers are very very rare, usually scout roles are filled by infantrymen sent ahead of the main group. We are not special forces troops, we are grunts.
