Europa Universalis could be a fun game to those who love grand strategy games that do not focus on combat such as the Total War games. Instead Europa, like other Paradox Interactive games, focus on the grand sceme of things pretty thoroughly. The game allows you to play as any country between 1399-1821 and allows several different ways to play it depending on your country's location and setting. I definitiely reconmend this game to those who have an interest in strategy games.
