The Few. The Proud. The Golden.

For the awesome people who wrestled all thirty six potatoes from the grasp of GLaDOS.

Or if you just scored 36/36 potatoes on the Valve ARG for Portal 2.

The first half of Divinity 2 is probably one of the best RPGs I've played on PC in the last decade or so. The latter half.. not so much. The world in the starts is really tightly designed and so vibrant that it actually feels like a real place. The combat is really fun and the customisation options are GRAND. Unfortunately in the second half it goes to crap and becomes an absolute drudge... but you'll get at least 10-15 hours or so out of this and you'll probably enjoy it just enough to finish the other 20.

Probably one of the most fun RPGs by Square in a long time. It's a shame it (rather unfairly) reviewed so poorly because it's certainly a lot better than the by-the-book rubbish in the FF series.

Battles consist of you vaguely controlling multiple groups of characters, rather than 3-5 guys directly. the screenshots of battle show it nicely - you pick general orders for each group at the start of each turn and the individual units decide what the best moves to use are. The battles are also incredibly slick and very quick - don't expect to have to wait 42602 years for animations ala other RPGS; you'll get through a turn of 25 characters in as many seconds.

Story isn't great but is it ever from japanese RPGs? It's just really good fun and well polished, fast-paced group combat with a lot of customisation. Although the PC version is much better than the 360 one, it's best played with a 360 pad.

My recommendation for this game is: Don't get it. Sloppy controls, awful AI, terrible gameplay, atrociously bad framerate. I can't talk about the customisation options because the game just locks up and freezes before the first mission finishes. Probably a good thing.
