Why the ♥♥♥♥ would you release (not open beta, a full actual release) a multiplayer game when the multiplayer functionality doesn't even work properly half the time?

Imagine having to not only buy EVERY expansion for full price instead of just the latest one to get that content like it is with every other MMO under the sun, but also having to buy quests and zones in-between for real money as well. You're constantly being beaten over the head with microtransactions and the in-game cash shop is VERY forced.

In most western games, if you play for about 20 hours you beat the story. In Baldur's Gate 3, you'll beat the prologue.

It runs like utter crap even on high end PC's, and all the "new and innovative" features are just lifted from other races and other Total War games. The "new settlement maps" are just reskins of old settlement maps. Adds nothing new, cooks your PC and they charge you about half the price of a full game for it.

This is the most disappointing nothingburger DLC to date. This literally adds less than a species pack.

Early Access Review
Still needs some work but it's very acceptable for an early access title.

The good:
-very responsive combat
-good variety of weapons and skills
-excellent magic system
-large map full of stuff to do
-enormous enemy variety
-fantastic graphics
-extremely fun and expansive building system
-very snappy player movement (provided you're not suffering from performance issues)
-basic but fun crafting system
-sunlight and silver are genuine threats but can be overcome with clever movement
-very atmospheric soundtrack
-very nice looking character creation

The bad:
-performance issues can be quite significant
-your healthbar isn't exactly the most visible
-no multi-story construction
-levelling could be a bit more comprehensive
-limited inventory with no way of really expanding it making far off expeditions a bother since you need to keep running back
-cannot make use of teleport locations with stuff in your inventory which makes those long hauls ever more annoying
-gathering is very inaccurate. Every time I wanted to mine some stone or gather some wood I always wound up with tons of unwanted stuff like plant fiber in my inventory
-undoing construction has to be done one item at a time which makes rearranging your base a huge chore

Ultimately the bad things about the game are very easily fixed or added QoL stuff. Definitely recommend picking it up.

This game is for the most part absolutely spectacular, but it's far from perfect. The game's story content peaked during the Gamma Quadrant arc, and the arcs leading up to that were amazing too. It's really a damn shame everything after that was Star Trek Discovery trash, which Cryptic seems to be doubling down on. A lot of people will defend it but I'm just not that keen on vindicating war criminals.

A console port that's not nearly as good as it could have been. It's been ported straight over bugs and all which were never fixed. Gameplay feels clunky and unwieldy, the story is nothing really special, the setting is alright if a bit cliche, the characters however are all really monotone and most times just downright cringy. Considering it's age, the bugs are never going to be fixed either and some are downright gamebreaking, preventing you from completing the story. (only way past it from what I've read is starting a completely new game, deleting all old save files)
