It's almost a good game, but if I were to describe it in one word, that word would be "tedious". Like many other open world games you're thrown into the world without much direction or story. Eventually you find the quest list and start chasing waypoints. Completing these quests isn't very satisfying, you get a small reward, but the story is so sparse that it feels like you haven't accomplished anything.

This game seems to force you into completing most missions in a stealth way. Setting off an alarm triggers more enemies to spawn. Using loud guns causes even more enemies to come your way. Because of this the best weapon in the game seems to be silenced pistols... After a few too many failed attempts to stealth a base the number of enemies in the area increases so much that I just end up reloading my save to reset their numbers back to default...

You earn EXP for your agents by going in an enemy base and just running around doing pretty much nothing. The way you earn cash is also just as ridiculous. You just hack all the ATMs in the map, then your cash automatically rises over time. If you're short on cash all you have to do is go AFK for a while. Doesn't feel like you really earn anything in this game, it just feels tedious.

Probably the most tedious thing about the game is you constantly have to run away from enemies and hide until their aggression goes down to the point that they don't recognize you anymore. Then you just walk back to them and either hijack their mind or stealth kill with a silenced pistol. One... by... one...

I enjoyed the game for the first few hours because everything felt fresh and new. Then I progressed to the next 2 areas and it was clear that I would be doing pretty much the exact same thing as the 1st area, endlessly chasing waypoints and taking out enemies one by one.

There's better games out there.

I've spent too much time on this game, but I'm a sucker for tedious survival games. Overall this game just doesn't feel finished. Updates might make this game more fun, but judging by the developer's changelog they are very slow.

Early game is the only difficult part but once you get a good storage of water you can sell this liquid gold to traders and never have to worry about food or supplies ever again.

Enemies aren't a threat as long as you have 2 powerful characters with strength of at least 10. You can easily train them by tediously clicking on the punching bag over and over again.

Raids aren't much of a threat, the traps you set up just behind your door kills anyone that dares step in.

You pretty much just spend your time clicking on the radio, intercom, and training stations. Not much happens in the game. It only takes a few hours to fortify yourself and be safe from any and all danagers, then you just spend the rest of the game doing the same thing over and over again until you've found and built all the best upgrades that you don't really need anyways. There are more interesting survival games available.

Why are Space Marines so squishy and die quicker than Imperial Guardsman? Why does Eldar have shields which makes them tanks until you break it? Relic got those 2 races backwards. This game just doesn't make sense and simply isn't fun. I was only interested in single player and even that is bland and uninteresting. It felt like I was playing a simplified mobile game. Slap down your basic buildings in the first 3 minutes, then churn out your deathball and rampage the map. The AI almost never attacked my base, on the occasion that they did attack my main base all it took was 3 basic units to defend it.

Took less than 20 hours to breeze through the campaign and I'm glad I didn't pay money for it. I would have had more fun playing a different game but I liked the Dawn of War series until now, so I figured I might as well see the end of it, because this failure of a game probably WILL be the end of it.

I prefer games where swarm tactics, rank, loadout, and lag aren't the determining factors for winning a fight. Spawn points are so spaced out that you spend most of your time running to objectives. When you do see someone the fight is usually over within 3 seconds and the one that wins is usually the one that has the most nearby allies. Just not a fun game, maybe if it didn't take forever to unlock stuff it might be fun or if the weapons didn't do so much damage so quickly.

There are too many bots constantly ruining games. The bots can instantly start a votekick upon joining a server while human players have to wait a few minutes. Why hasn't Valve done anything?

Single player is great, Exterminatus (4 player co-op) is fun, VS is not fun. VS mode suffers severely because of laggy hosts, it's pretty common to see players freeze in place and then suddenly appear somewhere else (especially the people playing the Assualt class). Lag combined with high damage weapons means your encounters typically last about 4 seconds after you see someone. Those battles are just too short to be satisfying. Get the game for single player or co-op, don't bother with VS.

Great game, better than Oblivion/Skyrim. You start out very weak and even the local wildlife is a very big threat. Combat is enjoyable after you get your first shield and you have to accurately time your attacks in between enemy attacks. The world is big enough to explore but not so large that you get bored wandering around. Only bad thing about the game is there are two major times where they trap you in a town and you can't leave until you've completed certain quests. Would have preferred being able to leave when I wanted to.

Thought it was going to be as fun as FlOw, but it's not. It doesn't really feel like you progress or get bigger/stronger. It doesn't matter if you get hit by the enemies, if you do it just sends you up a level and you can instantly swim back down to where you were and continue devouring your victim. None of the enemies are challenging in any way and everything just feels lifeless.
