As a player coming from Warcraft 3 with an entire handful of DotA1 games, I've much found DotA2 to my liking. The voice acting is top notch, nearly every character is colorful and intriguing in some way. Valve's poured on the polish. It's utterly staggering, considering the game's beta state.

The hero abilities are diverse and odd in a way that I have not seen from the other MOBA that I have played, League of Legends. While DotA 2 is almost certainly exactly DotA in gameplay, for those who didn't step into that (like myself and my friends) the gameplay is interesting and tactical. The biggest issue with the game is that the highs are high and the lows are bitterly, soul crushingly low. For this reason, bring some friends: misery loves company and the community isn't the strong point of most MOBAs, DotA included!

DotA2 was totally worth my free beta key and I hearily suggest winning your key! It's worth it!

Portal 2, while short, is brilliant and you'll be hooked through the story from the moment you step into Apeture laboratories. The folks at thinkingwithportals.com have recently completeted their summer map-design contest. They've produced some excellent and challenging maps, including new Co-Op content. If you're looking for something new to do with Portal 2, or concerned with it's length, the mapping community will certainly deliver here.
