The cake may be a lie but SR3 is still a bit of funny action - maybe a bit immature but if you can't accept the part of you that laughs at a fart joke (or a fart-in-a-yar as a weapon) you lie to yourself.

Introversion (the minds behind Uplink, Darwinia and Defcon) are probably the first indie developers that came to my attention and Uplink was the first game I've tried.
It is a 'hacking' simulation with a storyline but really it is much, much more and that is ten shades of awesome and plenty fun.
It allows for freeform play too - for example just playing to get enough passwords and accounts to heist the entire savings of some random victim. Priceless.
Also some fun easter-eggs like playing 'Global Thermonuclear Warfare' (Wargames) and seeing it later in the news ;)
