Buy it now. It's what you've ever wanted from an FPS/RTS hybrid.

Awesome game, if not a little skimpy on content.

If you liked Medieval 2, and maybe only half like Empire, this is the game that combines the best of both. Of the two factions I've tried out so far, the Ikko-ikki and the Shimazu, I've found that some start off more like Medieval 2 (Ikko-ikki) and others start off more like Empire (Shimazu). Shougun 2 combines the micromanagement system of Empire, which I liked better than Medieval 2 for extra complexity (even though I thought Empire was too complex when I first played it, but my opinion differs now), but has the gigantic, memorable battles of Medieval 2 with larger maps and more features such as the terrain affecting units much more in Shogun 2 than Medieval 2, slightly improved default controls, so on, so forth. I have not tried sea combat yet, so I cannot give an opinion on that yet. The unit DLC's are worth the price while they're on sale, especially the clan packs. On a final note, the faction difficulty rating is inaccurate to a Total War veteran and should be ignored.
