When AOE 3 first came out it had alot of expectations to fill. I played a ton of AOE2 as a child and I loved that game to bits, AOEIII at the time was a very unusal game in the sense that the various game mechanics presented were not very common at the time.
Thinking back to it, I remember AOE3 being very "weird" diffrent. Not entirely bad or or disapointing, but diffrent. I did play AOE3 alot as well, mostly just singleplayer, skirmish.
As most poeple would say, the reason AOE3 failed at its launch was because it was the wrong time for the game to come out. The game is still beautiful even in todays graphical standards in my opioion, gives a fresh,a nd a never-dull AOE RTS expreince.
As a final note, I'd only pick this up if you greatly enjoyed AOE2, Age of Mythology, or/and AOE1.
I got it 50% off for about 19.99 USD, not a bad deal!
A game that really changes your view on modern releases. Watching the game via videos and what-not really didn't convince me that a RTS + FPS genere game could work, but Nuclear Dawn proves me wrong.
Of course with public games, its not really a RTS as in the conventional kind, its more like "Just construct buildings and give orders, which some people may or may not loosely follow."
Regardless, tons of fun; graet qualiy maps. Def worth a try at the very least!
Sasha WILL be mine... damm that waskawee wabbit.
