Resident Evil: Revelations turns Resident Evil back into the direction the series SHOULD have gone AFTER RESIDENT EVIL 4. Not before Resident Evil 4 but after RE4 was created. I'm fairly certain we'll never have static camera angles, tank controls and real zombies anymore from where the series had started and originated from but the way I see this game is that it's the next best thing to the previous statement.
The strongpoints of this game:
- Yay no Leon. Just Jill and her *huge* skin-tight battle-suit sexy ass.
- The horror part of Resident Evil re-emerged.
- You can feel a certain tense-ness in the environment and music that plays while wandering around which adds a mysterious, creepy, tense, scary mood. Yay.
Cons:
- Jills face is WTFugly (luckily for 90% of the game you only see her sweet sweet donk whilst running around)
- Playing as Chris and more notably Fat Chris (Patrick) are the low-points of the game because their gameplay is intense amounts of fighting with no substance.
- The Genesis camera was not necessary in this game at all. This ain't no poke'mon snap lol. In Infernal mode it's your main source of finding ammo and herbs.
- Most of this game takes place on a ship so it runs the high risk of getting repetitive in environments as opposed to previous RE games where you would find yourself in 4-5 major 'dungeon' areas in the game ultimately ending up in an Umbrella Lab. This is actually the most hurtful thing about the game.
The good outweights the bad however. This game is better than RE: ORC and RE6 for sure without a doubt. This genre of Resident Evil games should live and the RE5/6/ORC should die. Supporting Capcom by buying this game is something I suggest.
I give it a B- or 80/100
A game based off of rage and Zelda NES gameplay....For $5 this can give you tons of replay value. Sometimes it goes on sale for $2 and way worth its price for the amount of time it may consume of you.
